LABOR DAY
A one-act* play by Ahon Gooptu
Runner-up, Barbara McClennon Clark One-Act Competition, 2020
Relationships are not always what they seem. And they are so much more complicated when you find yourself in one that you're not familiar with whatsoever. This one-act explores who has the final say in the delivery room once the child is born. And the complications that arise as a result.
An early draft of this play had a staged reading at the National Theater Institute during Playwrights and Librettists' Week.
Director - Emory MacLaughlin

Huge thanks to this team and my mentor Ren Dara Santiago for taking the piece where it needed to go!
